Lip Balm is much more than a transparent lip balm or gloss. Ideal for
everyday use, it has unique medical properties as well. Accu-soothe
restores moderate to severe chapped lips while protecting them with an
SPF of 15.
Accu-soothe contains acetyl mandelic acid. Though it is similar to
alpha hydroxy acids, this patented ingredient actually has the
opposite effect of AHAs. Rather than loosening the glue-like cohesions
that hold cells together on the surface of the skin, it strengthens
the inter-cellular bonds, causing the skin cells to cling to the
surface of the skin for longer periods of time. This increased cell
cohesion allows increased layers or thickness to build and counteract
excessive exfoliation caused by Accutane®, wind, or dry climate. This
is incredibly effective in preventing lips from over-chapping,
allowing them to remain soft, moist and comfortable.
